How LaunchCodes worksLaunchCodes is a tiny application that silently opens files in the correct application when you double-click on file icons. It uses no CPU when it is in the background, and consumes very little memory. LaunchCodes does not hack your system or modify any system files. It is simply a small Mac application that complies with all Apple programming guidelines. You can put the LaunchCodes application in any convenient location on your hard drive. The Applications folder is a good choice, but LaunchCodes will work from just about anywhere. You need to run LaunchCodes at least once in order to set your preferences. After that, LaunchCodes will launch itself whenever needed. You don’t have to add it to your login items or launch it manually; it just works. When LaunchCodes is running, it displays a small icon in your menu bar: Click on this icon to reveal a menu that lets you change your Preferences, enable and disable LaunchCodes, check for updates, view license information, and open LaunchCodes Help. You can disable LaunchCodes at any time and return to the standard Snow Leopard behavior. If you want to remove LaunchCodes from your system, just disable it and then delete the LaunchCodes application. |
